8U Select Team Koss - Champions 2018 Crabtown Showdown Champions

The Junior Hurricanes 8U Select “Team Koss” won the 2018 Crabtown Showdown championship with a 10-5 win over the Grundy Grizzlies in the finals. The undefeated Grizzlies came in averaging 17 goals a game in pool play, but the Jr Canes dominated the action and outscored Grundy 4-0 over the final 22 minutes to bring home the banner in the team’s first ever tournament. On top of the Canes’ 4-0 record on the weekend, the team also finished 2nd place in the skills competition, battling other teams in the age group in a series of NHL All-Star Game challenges including a shootout, hardest shot, shooting accuracy, passing accuracy and speed skating contests.

The 8U Select “Team McGee” earned 3rd place out of 6 teams after also going undefeated in pool play, but losing out in a tie-breaker before crushing the Tri-City Eagles 19-9 in the third place game. The two Junior Hurricanes 8U select teams combined for an 8-0 record in the tournament.
